How to register on the JTAM website in 7 steps:

STEP 1: Click on the register link: (you can click on the picture below to open it)

STEP 2: Read the note and follow directions (please tell me why you wish to join our website). If you are not a JTAM member, you can still register but your access to materials and information will be limited to certain topics and discussion groups. You might want to consider joining for the small sum of $25, which provides membership at both the state and national (NCJLT) levels. (click on this link for the form: http://jtamonline.org/MembershipApplicationForm2008-09.pdf .) Also, please note that there is a due date of October 15, after which we cannot process NCJLT membership applications (sorry).

STEP 3: After sending an email request to admin@jtamonline.org, you can then go ahead and submit your request (assuming you are 13 or older... if younger, then recommend this site to your teacher or parents, and they can register).

STEP 4: Fill in the required registration information. NOTE: the confirmation code will be different than this sample image.

STEP 5: Profile Information (optional). Here you can put contact details, etc... these details can be seen by any registered member of the site, including non-JTAM registered members (but not spambots).

STEP 6: Setting preferences. Most of these settings should be fine for you, and you can always go back and change them in your profile later. However, if you are a native Japanese speaker you might consider having the board display in Japanese for your convenience. Also, the time should show GMT -5, which is the Eastern Standard timezone. When you are finished, click on the SUBMIT button.

STEP 7: Confirmation of account creation. This window shows that you have created your account. However you cannot use it or do anything until the website administrator (me) has looked over your email that you sent earlier, and confirmed such information (again, to avoid activating any spambot registrations). When I activate it,

After this, you will get an email that looks somewhat like this:

And once I have checked to make sure your registration is legitmate, then you will get an email like the one below:

Now you are ready to start using the JTAM conversation board!!!! Just go ahead and log in:
